GROUPS
Geographic Interest Groups (GIGs) Currently we have North Bay and South Bay:
We know the Bay Area is Huge! Geographic Interest Groups provide in-person events within reach of our members in those local regions.
Other regions are certainly possible. Interested in being a leader of one? Contact president@tdgoldengate.org
Special Interest Groups (SIGs):
Is it time to increase your professional network, learn a new skill or just make a few friends along the way? That’s what a SIG is for!
Over the years the chapter had many SIGS covering all kinds of topics – from Consulting Issues to Career Paths. Areas of interest come and go and there are no rules. If you have a Learning and Development area you’d like to explore, talk to the chapter president about how to design, market and populate a Special Interest Group. Check the dropdown list under this tab to see what is currently available.
Right now we have two Special Interest Groups:
Holistic Learning Design – focusing on the practical applications of the ATD Capabilities
Immersive Learning Talent Experience – exploring the emerging learning methodologies offered by the latest technologies such as 3D VR environments, fully immersive VR, AR, and AI
To propose a new group, please email president@tdgoldengate.org
Our current SIGs are listed under this Groups tab.
Other Groups
Under the auspices of the National Liaison Officer, we participate in a multi-chapter CPTD Certification Study group and also are part of a multi-chapter California Young Professionals group, both of which have details under this Groups tab.
We also sponsor a MeetupTM group which is for L&D professionals within or outside of the chapter. It can expand to various geographical areas when a member steps up to lead one in their area. At this time, San Jose is the only meetup hub. For information, please see their meetup page.
