What do learning and development practitioners need to know and do to be successful, now and in the future?

And, how do they prepare for that future faster than ever before? The ASTD Competency Model contains 10 competencies that can be used as a roadmap for your own career development.

This session will give you unique insights into the future of L&D through the newly redefined ASTD Competency Model and give you valuable tools to assess your current professional development.

People new to L&D can use the competency model to map a course into the industry. Current practitioners can use it
to identify gaps in their career portfolios. L&D experts can
use the new model to focus strengths and develop new skills relevant to industry drivers.

When you leave this session, you will have created an action plan that will help you get started in developing your future in L&D.

Throughout 2014, we will use the Competency Model as a theme and highlight which competencies are covered in each of our monthly events.

10 Competencies:

1. Training Delivery

2. Coaching

3. Performance Improvement

4. Instructional Design

5. Change Management

6. Learning Technologies

7. Talent Management

8. Managing Learning Programs

9. Evaluating Learning Impact

10. Knowledge Management
