Many of us have access to powerful design programs for presentations and instructional design and are left to our own devices to figure out how to use them effectively. If you want to improve your understanding of powerful visual design principles then this session is for you!

Whether you need to apply them yourself or clearly communicate with a graphic designer or consultant, what you will learn in this session will be a solid foundation for success.

Join us as we explore ways that graphic design principles help us to create user-friendly instructional environments. These principles apply to a wide variety of situations, such as creating a PowerPoint presentation, designing a Job Aid, producing an eBook and creating online and printed instruction. Learn ways to create instructional materials that are uncluttered and inviting.

  • View illustrated definitions portraying graphic design principles
  • Explore the relationship between design principles and learning theories
  • Learn to recognize basic design principles, -- contrast, consistency, focal point, flow, proximity, proportion, rhythm and others
  • Discuss online presentations and eLearning using visual design terms
Questions will be invited throughout the presentation.

A handout with definitions will be emailed prior to the event.
