Now more than ever, organizations are looking to develop blended learning solutions that include innovative uses of technology along with the “tried and true.” How can learning and development professionals design effective learning programs that will be successful from both a learner and an organizational perspective?

As the buzz about social media and social learning, games and simulations, mobile learning and performance support continues to grow in intensity, organizations know they need to 'blend' these and other new approaches and tools into their learning solutions. But at the same time there is concern about how best to design effective learning programs that will be successful from both a learner and organizational perspective. In this session, chief solution architect and “creative abrasionist” Lance Dublin will review mini cases from major organizations like Nissan Europe, Toshiba, ADP, Xerox, Seagate, and ACS. You’ll learn how these organizations incorporated a wide range of technology-based learning solutions, from serious games to virtual environments, performance support to mobile learning, social media to social networks, and e-learning to virtual classrooms to develop unique solutions to meet their specific challenges. You will leave understanding how a new blended learning model is being applied today in innovative ways to solve real business problems and the key 'lessons learned' to help you when you return to your own organization.

Lance Dublin is an independent management consultant, international speaker and author based in San Francisco, California and serving clients worldwide. He specializes in strategy development, program design, and implementation for corporate learning, change management, and organizational development initiatives. He brings to his work more than 30 years' experience in adult education and training, communication and change leadership, and motivation and innovation. He is the co-author of the capstone book in ASTD's e-learning series, "Implementing e-Learning" and has contributed chapters and articles to numerous other books and professional publications.

Lance was Founder and CEO of Dublin Group from its
formation in 1983 through 1998. Under his leadership this company became recognized for its innovative solutions to improving individual and organizational performance and effective approaches to successfully implementing large-scale change initiatives. Prior to this, Lance was the founder, Dean, and later Provost of Antioch University/West, an innovative accredited bachelor's and master's degree program serving 1,000 students in the western states and Hawaii.
