How will mobile apps, tablet computing, and game-based learning impact employee learning and development? Experience this blended (onsite-online) review and discussion of the NMC Horizon Report, 2012 HiEd Edition.

You’ll see first hand how we use a Google+ Hangout to facilitate this session. You’ll pick up a few useful tools that you can immediately incorporate into your own workplace learning and performance endeavors.

Join Samantha Adams, Director of Communications of the New Media Consortium (NMC), lead writer and researcher of the 2012 Horizon Report and Paul Signorelli, Horizon Report Advisory Board member for a thought-provoking evening.

From New Orleans, Samantha will review tech trends via a Google+ Hangout. Paul will be onsite in San Francisco to participate in that discussion, talk about how Advisory Board members around the world use a well-facilitated wiki as the tool that helps shape the annual report, and describe how anyone involved in workplace learning and performance can use a Google+ Hangout as a learning tool.

In this information-packed session, you’ll:
  • Become familiar with six technologies that are changing the face of training-teaching-learning worldwide
  • Become familiar with how a well-facilitated wiki can be a learning tool as well as a collaborative tool that produces learning objects as well as reports that serve audiences worldwide.
  • See how a free online social media tool (Google+ Hangouts) can be used in a training-teaching-learning environment.

Who should attend:
The event is designed for anyone with an interest in learning how to incorporate emerging technology into training, teaching, and learning endeavors. If you are designing and/ or delivering learning opportunities, you should walk away with ideas and tools that you can immediately incorporate into your work. Don’t miss this opportunity to stay ahead of the emerging trends in learning and development. Register today!
