Renee Kirk, co-founder of Sage Interactive Inc., will demonstrate an online community (New Futures Network) and an e-support system (Visa Center for Learning) that she has designed. Afterwards, we will discuss and brainstorm ways to effectively use online communities and e-support systems to meet the learning and information needs of companies.

New Futures Network is an online community where government employees and their partners in the private sector come together to learn from each other, problem solve, and collaborate to build an environmentally sustainable future. The intent of the community is to ensure that people in these positions have the information, the tools, and the support network needed to be effective and successful. The primary target audience includes city, county, and regional government employees who are focused on sustainability issues and the service providers, NGOs, and academic communities that support them.

Visa Center for Learning is an encyclopedia of information about Visa products and services, providing just-in-time training and information at employees’ fingertips. Visa employees worldwide can use this knowledge support system to access and explore information using several navigation paths to locate the information they require. Animated flow diagrams are provided to illustrate transaction processing.

About Our Speaker:
Co-founder Renée Kirk brings over 25 years of experience in instructional design, project management, and analysis to Sage Interactive Inc. Before forming Sage Interactive in 1993, Renée was the principal of Kirk Consulting, an instructional development firm specializing in the custom design and development of performance-based training and educationally-oriented marketing materials.

Prior to starting a consulting firm, Renée was AVP and manager of training development for a division of 3,200 employees at Wells Fargo Bank. During her seven-year employment at the Bank, she launched Wells Fargo's first computer-based training initiative.
