Join us for the first meeting of the Golden Gate Chapter Career Discovery Group being held in the North Bay! Are you new to the field of Talent Development and have questions on getting your career on the right path? Meet others in a small, interactive setting and hear about how to get your foot in the door!

Talent development covers so many areas - from e-learning and instructional design to coaching, in-person training, program management and consulting. Which one is right for you? Join us in discussing the different career paths and opportunities that the Bay Area holds for new professionals.

The mission of this group is to provide a quarterly opportunity to learn more about different roles in the field of talent development.

These small, interactive meetings give the opportunity for participants to closely network and ask questions of experts in the field. This meeting is not another panel discussion or large Q/A session. Often time limits you to one question in such formats (if you even can get a question in), and competing for a conversation afterwards can be a challenge. By keeping meetings small, we wish to eliminate such issues.

This first meeting, held in conjunction with the North Bay Geographic Interest Group, will address the different avenues that training and talent development professionals often encounter in the job market. From e-learning and performance improvement programs to training and evaluation, speaker Paul Anjeski will discuss what area(s) you may be interested in knowing more about and next steps in getting started on your individual path to career success, while also meeting other professionals new to the field!

Topics include

  • Paths that lead into different areas of the talent development field
  • How to get started in your area of preference
  • Overview of Bay Area industries that hire (health care, tech, ed, government, etc) and what they look for
  • Resources/ideas on how to find a job

This event was initially presented 01 Oct 2014 in San Mateo.

5:30 – Check-in and networking; includes light snacks
6:00 – Event starts
7:20 – Announcements and farewell
7:30 – Event ends

Paul Anjeski is the 2015 President of the Golden Gate Chapter. With over 25 years experience as a talent developer at all levels, his passion is coaching people new to the field. He has coached, mentored and supported a countless number of now successful practitioners in the public, non-profit and for profit arenas.

As the lead instructor for the Chapter's Learning Fundamentals course, he keeps up with the latest industry trends and practices.

He provides just the right level of guidance so that that individuals may apply what they discover while not feeling overwhelmed.
